Orange County Choppers Pays Tribute to the 343 Members of FDNY killed on September 11, 2001
Orange County Choppers, located only 15 minutes from Rombout Station 1, builds some of the best custom motorcycles in the world. Their work is seen weekly in the popular TV series, "American Chopper", on The Discovery Channel. As a tribute to our Brothers in FDNY that were killed during the events of Sept 11, 2001, the guys at Orange County built a true masterpiece called "The Fire Bike". The custom work and detail on the bike is remarkable, from a carburetor that looks like a hydrant, an oil tank that looks like a Scott Bottle, to an actual piece of recovered World Trade Center steel, the entire bike is beautiful. The Bike will never be sold and is always on tour with the people from Orange County Choppers as a lasting tribute to the men and women that did not make it home on that fateful day. The Rombout Fire Company would like to thank our neighbors, Paul Teutul Sr, Paul Teutul Jr, Vinnie and the rest of the staff at OCC for creating such a beautiful tribute.
